City of Memphis Civic Complex 2 – Main Building

Elevating the City of Memphis Public Works division, this transformative workspace promotes comfort, operational efficiency, and synergy between work groups. Light, open, and elegantly interconnected, the offices and communal spaces engender a sense of community and collaboration. An adaptive reuse of a former Coca-Cola bottling and distribution facility, this 153,000-square-foot building is situated on a 17.5 acre site that will also be home to many additional City functions. A complete gutting of the building allowed for a reimagining that conveys optimism and meaningful investment, highlighting contemporary design alongside historic elements and premium materials from the building’s original 1954 construction. This first phase sets the tone for a positive and enthusiastic work environment that will benefit every citizen of Memphis.
