North Memphis Grocery Store & Resource Center Development

This mission-driven project will enhance the quality of life for residents living in North Memphis by eliminating a long-standing food desert. The proposed development consists of a new grocery store, social service facilities, and new affordable housing along with investments in neighborhood parks, playgrounds, and community facilities, in addition to social, health, and fitness activities for all ages on a 15-acre site. This vibrant mix of community-focused uses will help to spur revitalization in the Chelsea corridor while adding transformative vital amenities.

"“Designing resilient buildings is important, but we also need to ensure that communities of color—which have traditionally been sidelined—help drive it.” “Renewable energy is a chance to innovate for economic opportunities, as well as the health of society at large.”"
