Bowden Gastroenterology Clinic

Founded in 1996, Mid-South Gastroenterology Group has developed a reputation for providing excellent care. This is the third Memphis expansion by the clinic, and their second clinic in Midtown. Once the midcentury modern offices of architecture firm, Walk Jones & Francis Mah, the 5,680 sf building had many architectural design elements that fit well with contemporary styles. To this end; The goal of the project was to modernize the building and upgrade the program for the needs of the clinic while enhancing the existing building design. The design utilizes low maintenance and extremely durable materials. These natural materials were extrapolated by using stone tile and wood finishes, creating a visually warm and welcoming space. The renovation of the once inactive blighted property into a bustling wellness facility has improved the neighborhood and removed a blight along the highly visible Poplar Ave Corridor. With quality access to health care being a concern for many in Memphis, this new clinic location will allow more people to access gastroenterological care in their neighborhood.
