Memphis Riverfront Master Plan

Place making is the essential ingredient of Urban Design. The Memphis Riverfront Master Plan strives to recreate the Memphis Riverfront as a well-designed environment with a variety of things for people to see and do. The master plan proposes many special places within the plan. Each one different from another, but as a whole they work together by focusing on the Mississippi, making the Riverfront the new “Place To Be” in Downtown Memphis. In addition, the Memphis Riverfront Master Plan endeavors to reunite the city and the river, with an active waterfront downtown and recreational riverfront serving residential neighborhoods to the north and south. The downtown riverfront will become the city’s new “front door”. Self Tucker Architects, as a member of the Cooper Robertson team assisted with the Master Planning effort for this exciting project.
