Future Office Space

The Universal Life Building, designed by the renowned architectural firm McKissack & McKissack in 1949, is being revitalized into an upscale office building. This limestone building, with its Egyptian Revival architectural motif, is being completely renovated with modern conveniences while retaining its essential historical qualities, which allows it to be included in the National Register of Historic Places. To support the historic preservation objectives of the project the building exterior and the main corridors of the building have been designed to meet the requirements to achieve historic tax credits.  Self Tucker Properties also aims to make this building renovation a healthy, responsible and environmentally sensitive process incorporating energy efficient systems, recycled products and waste reduction practices. The building is being designed to achieve LEED certification and will feature a green roof.

"It’s exciting to see Downtown growing and evolving, the Universal Life Insurance Company has a legacy in Memphis and we want to honor it by creating a premier building and first class Downtown office space"
